We are very pleased to recommend Lime Kiln Farm EC to anyone looking to have their horse or pony professionally backed; the result will be a very happy horse and very happy owners.
Sending our young horse ‘Ruby’ to be backed by Ali and her team was definitely the best decision we have made for her. Ruby received a kind, professional education. Ali and Claire’s horsemanship skills, compassion and patience certainly show’s in Ruby’s manners and riding.
Yard life at LKF is a friendly, happy environment with excellent facilities where Ruby has benefited enormously. We were always kept up-to-date with her progress and received photos of her in training. We are very pleased with Ruby’s transformation, from a field companion into a well behaved and very willing riding horse; happily trotting over a small course of jumps and riding out on a hack all within a month of being backed is absolutely amazing.
We are very grateful to all the LKF team for their help, experience and kind support.
Sandra & Peter Wright.
Friendly Team, Honest hard working yard; does what it says on the tin and a whole lot more! Looked after and helped sell our mare. Great yard, comes highly recommended. Mrs C. Beer & Attory Milly
My lovely but quirky 6 yr old mare went to LKF for schooling as her “last” chance before being retired due to behavioural issues. Ali & her team slowly brought her round and after 8 weeks I was able to start riding her. We are going from strength to strength and I decided to keep her full time at LKF where she is being schooled regularly by Ali. She recently won her first dressage competition and I hope to start jumping her in the New Year with Ali’s help. The LKF team have also been very supportive and helped with my confidence issues. The combination of great facilities and on site shows, make it a great place to send your horse. Mrs Sophie Keeney & Breda
I sent my 5 year old connemara gelding to Lime Kiln for 6 weeks schooling livery this summer. I have owned him since he was almost 2, broken him myself and everything was going ok until he turned 5, when he became very stubborn. I was having difficulty getting him to school, could hardly make him canter and he would refuse to move once he got near the gate of a jumping arena. He had all the usual checks, teeth, back, tack etc, with no issues arising and had only been doing light work, so it wasn’t due to him being stale. I realised I didn’t have the time or facilities to do the best for him. Lime Kiln was recommended to me by a friend, but I was still a little apprehensive about sending my ‘baby’ away; I needn’t have worried! Ali and her friendly team were fantastic. They cared for him brilliantly, got him going so much better in the school and his jumping is fantastic now. I got back a far more willing and enthusiastic horse, with improved manners as well. Ali also gave me tips on riding him and his feeding which have really helped. I can’t recommend Lime Kiln highly enough and would definitely say that if you are struggling with your horse this is the place to send them to. I only wish I lived nearer so I could keep Finn there all the time. Fay Faulkner and Silverbridge Finn
We bought our first horse from Lime Kiln Farm and found that the whole team at the yard were amazing. Our horse was exactly as we had been told and is now a very precious member of our family. Nothing is too much trouble for them and straight away you feel at ease and can see that every horse is cared for as if it were their own. I cannot recommend Ali and her team highly enough. Mrs J Stock & Solar Law.
I sent my pony to Lime Kiln Farm to be backed, Ali and her team did a fab job and my pony is now out on loan having a fun life.
I would highly recommend LKF; Ali is a very good, kind rider and she kept me updated with Polly’s progress.
I will be sending my youngster to Ali next year, as she did such a great job. I just wish I lived closer as I would attend the clinics/shows and would have lessons. Great facilities. Kate Plumridge & Polly.
I sent my mare to LKFEC in Jan 2013 for schooling/selling livery, she hadn’t been ridden for over 8 years and Ali did a super job with her, she brought her on slowly which is just what she needed as she is a very sensitive mare and too much too quick would have ruined her. She sold in April and I have to say Ali was fantastic with people viewing her, she spent time with them and it was never too much trouble. She was a bad loader and they had her running up the ramp by the time she went to her new home.. All in all excellent service, fantastic facilities and I would highly recommend. Thanks to Ali, Claire and all LKFEC staff.
I sent two horses to Ali to be broken, both came back with better manners and going nicely. She gave them both a very good start and as i was close enough, I was able to watch their improvement each week. Being a competition yard, I was also able watch them enter competitions; my daughter’s mare did her first basic dressage test after being there four weeks. I would highly recommend her and would also use her services again. Mrs J Long, Herbie & Ella
Since writing this Julie has sent us Cherry, the third of her horses to be backed by us.
I sent my green 6yo IDxTB gelding to LKF for schooling/sales livery in March 2014. Ali did a top class job with my horse, who up until arriving, had been backed late, bought on slowly, and mainly hacked. By the time he was sold in mid-April, my horse was scoring 65% in dressage tests, and happily and comfortably popping a SJ course of 75cm – scary fillers and all! During his stay, my horse was well cared for, advertised and demonstrated beautifully. I cannot recommend Ali and the Lime Kiln staff highly enough; for schooling alone or for a stress free sale.
