Starting in October, we will be holding evening indoor showjumping; these competitions are open to juniors and seniors. Starting at 5pm, classes begin at 40cm and go up to 70cm.
The dates for these competition are: 9th October, 23rd October, 6th November, 20th November & 4th December. For a schedule please visit the what's on page or click here.
The work to make the lorry park hard-standing has now finished, and it has been in use since the 14th February. We would like to take this opportunity to thank-you all for being patient and understanding over the last few months, as we were fully aware that having to park horseboxes on the concrete outside the arena was unacceptable.
Following suggestions from competitors we have decided to run some Eventer Trials; the first of these was on 29th March and proved to be a great success. They are held outside in our large grass arena, and are judged one round against the clock over a course of approximately 18 fences, which are a mixture of showjumps and working hunter fences. All classes are open to juniors and seniors, but to be judged separately if entries warrant.
Future dates are: 29th August & 3rd October. We will be re-starting the Eventer Trials in March/April 2010.
On Saturday 24th January Steve Turner the BSJA stipendiary steward visited Lime Kiln Farm, he was very pleased with the improvements that we have made and our excellent surface.
As promised the following work has been finished: 20 metre extension to the indoor arena, new outdoor 22 x 42 all-weather arena, toilets & office, and are all now in use; come along and have a look for yourself.
Lime Kiln Farm has been inspected and approved by the British Show Jumping Association/BSJA. The inspectors were extremely impressed by the facilities we already had and what we have planned for the future. Our next BSJA senior shows are on 26th September & 10th October which are both Progressive shows offering classes from 85cm - 1.20m. Our next pony show is on 27th September offering classes 70cm - 1.15m classes. We are pleased to announce that renowned course-builder Steve Fazackerley will be returning here for the 26th & 27th September.
2009 looks like it’s going to be a very busy year here at Lime Kiln Farm; starting in January is the Lime Kiln Farm Championship Series, all our unaffiliated showjumping and dressage shows will be qualifiers.
There will be 3 levels of qualification in showjumping: 65cms, 75cms, and 85cms for juniors and 75cms, 85cms and 95cms for seniors. All double clears will qualify for the final. Dressage will be a mixed competition of juniors and seniors, and will have 2 levels of qualification: Prelim and Novice.
All qualifiers will be able to compete in the Championship Shows held in November; dressage on the 1st, junior showjumping on the 15th and senior showjumping on the 22nd. £10.00 cash, a trophy, sash, rosette and prizes will be awarded to the winner of each championship class; with plenty of prizes for 2nd-6th place as well.
Starting from 4th January we will be including a walk and trot test at all our unaffiliated dressage shows; ideal for novice horses, ponies, children and adults. In addition to the British Dressage Intro A & B tests we have also written our own LKF Intro 1 test, for a copy of this please click here.
